Job Summary
Lead Counselor responsible for executing camp activities and leading other counselors in group settings; provide guidance, safety, leadership, education, and YMCA-values-driven experience for children served at camp; assist in planning and implementing programs and safety protocols; maintain certifications and report incidents; promote proper group behavior and high-level service to participants; strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and commitment to YMCA values.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma in progress or complete or GED
- Experience working with children in a structured setting
- First Aid/CPR; must obtain any other certifications required for the position
- Pass a Bright from the Start (BFTS) fingerprint background check and a drug screen
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship
