Job Summary
Lead Business Analyst in the Platform Strategy & Solutions team at Canada Life responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for the IIW platform, authoring user stories, defining business rules and decision logic to support automated processes, collaborating with IT and business teams to integrate IDP, workflow, and automation, evaluating processes for enhancements, conducting impact and risk analyses, supporting governance/compliance/audit, leading Scrum ceremonies and UAT, facilitating remote and in-person sessions, creating project plans, and mentoring Senior Analysts. Requires solid Agile experience, IDP/workflow expertise, strong communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment; asset knowledge includes financial services/insurance domain, tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with rules harvesting and automation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, IDP, workflow and business rule automation, process improvement, or related roles
- Strong expertise in requirements gathering, business process modeling, and stakeholder management
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, working with incomplete information to drive clarity and actionable next steps
- Experience in financial services, insurance or investments is an asset
- Proficiency in business analysis tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in agile environments
- Experience in rules harvesting, rules authoring, decision automation, business rules management systems, and rules-based decisioning frameworks is an asset
- Financial services, insurance business or investments knowledge is an asset
