Job Summary
Supervise and direct maintenance staff to complete daily tasks while overseeing and inspecting work performed by outside contractors. Estimate time and materials for repairs and new projects, then create project plans and simple budgets for internal initiatives. Perform preventive maintenance on critical equipment including refrigeration, HVAC, electrical systems, and emergency backup units. Analyze system operations to determine root causes of malfunctions and implement corrective action as required. Manage maintenance work order software, check supply stock levels, and place orders with vendors. Train new building engineers and write operations procedures governing preventative maintenance standards. Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to safety and building operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 5 years of experience in a data Center environment
- 5 years' experience related to building management
- Ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determining the root cause of all problems and malfunctions and to take corrective action as required
- Able to read complex building drawings and schematics
- Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety
- Experience in supervising others and managing projects
- Above average skills with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years' experience with building automation systems, Johnson Controls, Metasys preferred
- Back-end BMS controls experience a bonus
