Job Summary
Guide elementary age participants through sports, arts, STEM, and hands-on learning activities at the Before and After-School Enrichment program, supporting the supervisor in teaching teamwork and social emotional learning. Supervise a group of children to ensure health and safety while providing guidance to staff overseeing activities. Plans and implements culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate activities within the provided curriculum, professionally communicating with parents and assisting in site maintenance and snack preparation. Provide onsite support for the school-based Play Everyday Program and assume responsibility for program operation when designated staff are absent. Start August 10th; part-time onsite Monday through Friday from 6:45am to end of school, with additional support days during the middle of the day.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- 2 or more years' experience with children; camps, child care, tutoring, and nannying
- Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
- Experience planning and implementing group activities
- Have completed 12 credits of 100-level or above college-level coursework and have a GED or high school diploma
- Completion of minimum STARS required training
- Certification in CPR/First aid
- We require pre-employment TB tests and MMR vaccination
- Food worker card
- Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT
Desired Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- Leadership or supervisory experience (1-2 years)
- Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English
