Job Summary
Guide elementary-age participants through sports, arts, STEM, and hands-on learning activities at the Before and After-School Enrichment program, while supporting the Play Everyday recess-based program at partner schools. Supervise groups of children to ensure health and safety, model social emotional learning, and encourage creative exploration and physical activity. Plan and implement culturally relevant activities within the provided curriculum, assist in maintaining site cleanliness, and prepare snacks. Professionally communicate with parents regarding daily progress and assume full program operation responsibility when designated staff are absent. Attend required staff meetings and trainings, and provide onsite support for school-based activities.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- 2 or more years' experience with children; camps, child care, tutoring, and nannying
- Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
- Experience planning and implementing group activities
- Have completed 12 credits of 100-level or above college-level coursework and have a GED or high school diploma
- Completion of minimum STARS required training
- Certification in CPR/First aid
- We require pre-employment TB tests and MMR vaccination
- Food worker card
- Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT
Desired Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- Leadership or supervisory experience (1-2 years)
- Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English
