Job Summary
Plan and implement culturally relevant activities for elementary students in Before and After-School enrichment programs, guiding groups through sports, arts, and STEM while fostering social-emotional learning. Supervise children to ensure health and safety, provide guidance to staff, and professionally communicate with parents. Support the Play Everyday Program at schools and assume full program operation responsibility when designated staff are unavailable. Maintain site cleanliness, prepare snacks, and manage check-in/out procedures. Follow all YMCA policies, including abuse prevention and emergency protocols.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- 2 or more years' experience with children; camps, child care, tutoring, and nannying
- Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
- Experience planning and implementing group activities
- Have completed 12 credits of 100-level or above college-level coursework and have a GED or high school diploma
- Completion of minimum STARS required training
- Certification in CPR/First aid
- We require pre-employment TB tests and MMR vaccination
- Food worker card
- Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT
Desired Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- Leadership or supervisory experience (1-2 years)
- Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English
