Job Summary
Guide elementary-age participants through sports, arts, STEM, and hands-on learning activities at the Y Before and After-School Enrichment program, supporting the supervisor in teaching teamwork and social-emotional skills. Supervise groups to ensure health and safety while providing onsite support for the school-based Play Everyday Program. Plan and implement culturally relevant activities, professionally communicate with parents, and maintain site cleanliness. May prepare snacks, assist with check-in/out, and assume full program operation responsibility when designated staff are absent. Start August 17 in part-time onsite roles at Carriage Crest, Fairwood, Panther Lake, Ridgewood, and Sunrise Elementary schools.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- 2 or more years' experience with children; camps, child care, tutoring, and nannying
- Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
- Experience planning and implementing group activities
- Have completed 12 credits of 100-level or above college-level coursework and have a GED or high school diploma
- Completion of minimum STARS required training
- Certification in CPR/First aid
- We require pre-employment TB tests and MMR vaccination
- Food worker card
- Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT
Desired Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- Leadership or supervisory experience (1-2 years)
- Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English
