Job Summary
Plan and implement culturally relevant activities for elementary participants in sports, arts, STEM, and social emotional learning at Before and After-School Enrichment and Play Everyday programs. Supervise children to ensure health and safety while guiding staff and communicating with parents. Maintain site cleanliness, prepare snacks, and manage check-in/out procedures when designated staff are absent. Provide onsite support for school-based recess programs and attend required trainings. This role begins August 17 at Hazel Valley, North Hill, Des Moines, or Midway Elementary locations.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- 2 or more years' experience with children; camps, child care, tutoring, and nannying
- Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
- Experience planning and implementing group activities
- Have completed 12 credits of 100-level or above college-level coursework and have a GED or high school diploma
- Completion of minimum STARS required training
- Certification in CPR/First aid
- We require pre-employment TB tests and MMR vaccination
- Food worker card
- Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT
Desired Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- Leadership or supervisory experience (1-2 years)
- Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English
