Job Summary
Guide elementary age participants through sports, arts, STEM, and hands-on learning activities at the Before and After-School Enrichment program, while supporting the Play Everyday recess-based program at partner schools. Supervise groups to ensure health and safety, model teamwork and social emotional learning, and maintain developmentally appropriate site cleanliness. Professionally communicate with parents regarding daily activities and program operations. Plan and implement culturally relevant activities within the provided curriculum, assist with check-in/out procedures, and prepare snacks as required. This part-time onsite role begins August 17 at Westgate, Chase Lake, Sherwood, or College Place Elementary, with Monday through Friday hours from 6:45 am until the start of school or 6:00 pm.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- 2 or more years' experience with children; camps, child care, tutoring, and nannying
- Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
- Experience planning and implementing group activities
- Have completed 12 credits of 100-level or above college-level coursework and have a GED or high school diploma
- Completion of minimum STARS required training
- Certification in CPR/First aid
- We require pre-employment TB tests and MMR vaccination
- Food worker card
- Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT
Desired Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- Leadership or supervisory experience (1-2 years)
- Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English
