Job Summary
Lead Backend Engineer for the Provider Servicing team to design and develop scalable, secure platform services and APIs, mentor engineers, and drive AI adoption in development and operations. Role involves owning backend services across Java/Spring Cloud and integration platforms, enriching APIs to integrate with partners, guiding architectural decisions for cloud-native, AI-enabled systems, and collaborating with product managers, operations analysts, and customer advocates to improve SLAs through automation. Hybrid role based in San Francisco, Plano, or Lehi with in-office presence required two days per week.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years experience as Backend Engineer
- Proficiency in Java & Spring Cloud
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with integration platforms (e.g., Mulesoft)
- Experience with AI-enabled development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, WindSurf)
- Cloud experience (AWS/GCP preferred)
- Hands-on experience with SQL/PostgreSQL
- Data-intensive service development
- Experience in building, launching, and maintaining complex systems
- Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills
