Job Summary
Lead Backend Engineer (BFF) responsible for designing, building, and maintaining horizontally scalable backend systems using TypeScript and Go to support millions of users. Develop GraphQL and REST APIs for iOS/Android/web clients; lead features end-to-end from ideation to production; define and uphold a robust testing strategy; collaborate with product, design, and client engineers; contribute to architecture discussions and process improvements to raise the overall quality of the backend. Requires 7+ years in backend development, strong Go proficiency, SQL/NoSQL experience (e.g., Redis, DynamoDB), cloud and containerization expertise (AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes), and excellent collaboration and communication skills. Location is Austin or New York with onsite expectations; visa sponsorship not available.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of backend development
- strong proficiency in Go
- Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. Redis, DynamoDB)
- Experience owning features end-to-end, from conception through production
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience designing and building GraphQL and REST APIs
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
