Job Summary
Lead Backend Engineer for Wizz at Voodoo. You’ll own backend architecture, ensure scalability, performance, and reliability for millions of users, and shape long-term product decisions in collaboration with product and engineering teams. The role involves designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining highly scalable backend systems, integrating third-party services (analytics, moderation, cloud tools), and advancing reliability, observability, and infrastructure practices. Tech stack includes Node.js, Fastify, Socket.io, Go, Firebase, MongoDB, Redis, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, S3, CloudFront, BigQuery, Docker, and microservice architecture. Requires 5+ years backend experience and fluency in French; Paris-based with remote days available. Required Qualifications
- Excellent back-end programming skills (5+ years experience)
- Experience with Node.js
- Experience building APIs
- Experience with high traffic and distributed systems architectures
- Professional GCP or AWS expertise
- Fluent in French
- Interest in Node.js (vanilla)
- DevOps skills (Terraform, Cloud formation, etc.), are a plus
