Lead AV Technician

Job Summary
Independently install, configure, and commission high-end residential AV and automation systems, including Savant, Control4, and Crestron platforms. Program and troubleshoot complex field issues while completing final system testing, commissioning, and client handoffs. Configure networking equipment and document all work using company software for accurate time tracking and job notes. Coordinate with project managers and warehouse staff to ensure schedules are met and maintain company vehicles and tools. Provide occasional mentorship to junior technicians and stay current on emerging technologies like lighting control and motorized shading. Work autonomously without micromanagement, solving problems independently to deliver exceptional client experiences.
Required Qualifications
- Several years of experience installing high-end residential AV or home automation systems
- Ability to independently manage projects from start to finish
- Strong networking knowledge
- Experience programming or commissioning residential control systems
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Professional appearance and customer-facing communication skills
- High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work without constant supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Savant certification or extensive Savant programming experience
- Experience with Lutron lighting systems
- Experience with Control4 or Crestron
- Experience with motorized shades and lighting control systems
- CTS or other industry certifications
