Job Summary

Lead and oversee installation technicians while performing hands-on installation of commercial AV systems, including mounting equipment, executing cabling terminations, and building custom panels from engineering drawings. Manage daily workload, priorities, and schedules, escalating risks and identifying design or material issues. Coordinate with project management, field superintendents, subcontractors, and union trades to ensure compliance with QC standards, often working independently on sites without dedicated supervision. Provide daily feedback to supervisors and maintain organized job sites, toolkits, and material inventories. This role requires periodic overtime and weekend work to meet client deadlines. Frequent travel by car and occasional air travel is required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • OSHA 30 Certificate
  • Five or more years as a commercial AV installation technician or related industry experience
  • Experienced in supervising, coaching, and training technicians to company standards while providing constructive feedback
  • Advanced technical knowledge of AV system components, cabling, device integration, and rack assembly
  • Strong ability to interpret and implement complex project documentation independently
  • Knowledgeable of low voltage electrical concepts
  • Familiarity with a wide range of audio, video and networking equipment
  • Possess advanced carpentry and/or installation skills
  • Proficient use and safety with power tools
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to occasionally climb ladders
  • Must be able to use stairs
  • Must be able to lift and/or move materials up to 40 pounds
