Job Summary
Lead Autonomy Behavior Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and testing state-of-the-art robotics software in C/C++ to enable safe, comfortable autonomous vehicle behavior. Lead and participate in code quality activities including design and code reviews; provide technical guidance to the Technical Support Team; coordinate with cross-functional teams to define software and system requirements for AV behavior and controls subsystems; collaborate with data science to design metrics and KPIs; develop unit and simulation tests; coordinate on-vehicle tests in real-world scenarios; diagnose field-reported issues and develop tools to analyze behavior and control subsystems from field data. Requires expertise in behavior planning, decision making under uncertainty, path planning, probabilistic reasoning, machine learning, trajectory generation, and controls/localization; strong C/C++ programming in Linux; ability to mentor and lead complex projects and work with perception and controls teams. Travel: moderate. Salary range: $190,000–$230,000 USD.
