Lead Audiovisual Technician - DoD Projects (SAV)

Job Summary
Lead on-site AV installation and commissioning for DoD projects, supervising field teams and ensuring high-quality execution from install through final sign-off. Own setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of AV, conferencing, and IP-networked systems; lead integration with control platforms (Crestron/AMX/Extron), DSP configuration (Biamp Tesira, ClearOne), and room/system networking. Travel to client sites for final install, commissioning, and handoff, primarily in the DMV region with occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel. Requires DoD security clearance eligibility and a clean driver’s license; strong preference for candidates near the VA-MD-Washington DC beltway, with consideration for Savannah, GA or Charleston, SC. Not a remote role; requires regular on-site presence. Education includes a high school diploma or equivalent with preferred Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- DoD Secret Level Security Clearance mandatory (ability to obtain)
- 5-7+ years of commercial or government AV installation and field deployment experience
- Prior lead or supervisor experience strongly preferred
- Certifications: AVIXA CTS or CTS-I preferred; Crestron DMC-D, Biamp Tesira, Extron training a plus; OSHA-30 a strong advantage
- Clean Driver’s License
- Strong IP networking knowledge (routing basics, VoIP, SIP, enterprise networks)
- Ability to read architectural drawings, blueprints, reflected ceiling plans, AV schematics
- On-site, travel to client locations (CONUS/OCONUS)
- Strong communication and customer-first mindset
- Experience with networking devices, control systems, and room systems (Cisco, Polycom, cloud collaboration tools)
- Proficient in configuring and testing AV systems, DSP files, and project documentation
