Job Summary
Lead Brigade Athletic Trainer and principal advisor to the Injury Control Director on acute care, injury control, reconditioning, and performance optimization. Coordinate with Strength and Conditioning teams and leadership to support unit training programs for Soldiers with and without physical limitations. Provide forward musculoskeletal care, early medical intervention, and injury prevention across fitness centers, ranges, and field environments. Deliver prevention-focused care and rehabilitation while engaging in performance optimization strategies addressing physical, mental, nutritional, sleep, and spiritual domains. Serve as primary point of contact for assigned units, prepare monthly status reports, and ensure safe equipment operation. Conduct education sessions and observe training events to improve ACFT pass rates and soldier resilience. Work Monday through Friday, 40 hours weekly, with schedules subject to change due to training events and varying BDE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Athletic Training or similar degree
- Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)
- Unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands to provide healthcare within the scope of practice for Athletic Trainers per state practice acts
- Passing score from the BOC for the Athletic Trainer
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Five years of relevant Athletic Training work experience
- Experience working with active populations (e.g. military, high school, collegiate, professional sports, performing arts, occupational health)
- Demonstrated experience working with high school, collegiate, or professional sports, military, performing arts, and/or occupational health
- Relevant experience developing and executing tasks and environment-specific functional injury control and health/well-being programs for groups of athletes
- Ability to demonstrate sound management qualities
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Current physical and immunizations
- Possess and maintain the ability to lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 20 kilograms/45lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, except federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed
- Ability to work outside of normal hours of operation
- Ability to work on weekends due to varying BDE schedules and locations
- Ability to work a 40-hour workweek and/or 80-hours within a two-week period
