Lead Assembly Technician

Job Summary
Build and maintain stock levels to meet the Production Schedule by assembling units per design drawings and supervisor instructions. Lead assembly operations while ensuring a clean, organized work area and strictly following all safety policies. Manage material supply by informing supervisors of needed equipment and maintain detail-oriented organization with strong time management skills. This role requires excellent judgment, decision-making, and leadership capabilities within a manufacturing environment. Candidates must be mechanically inclined, physically capable of lifting 50 pounds and working in awkward positions, and possess clear English communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- assemble units as laid out in design drawings and instructed by production supervisors and group leaders
- mechanically inclined and comfortable with the use of hand tools, machines and other equipment
- detail oriented
- organization and time management skills
- Excellent judgement, decision-making and leadership capabilities
- Knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
- Must follow all safety policies and procedures
- Maintain material supply and inform supervisor of needed supplies or equipment
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- Good communications skills relative to supervisors and other related departments
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift 50 pounds; push, pull and work with similarly weighted items
- Physical ability to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, bending, and overhead
- Ability to climb and work from scaffolding or a step ladder
- Minimal computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Must be able to communicate (read, write and speak) the English language clearly
