Job Summary
Lead Area Health Information Specialist responsible for processing ROI requests and releasing medical records in a HIPAA-compliant, secure manner; travel 75%+ to provide ROI coverage across multiple Tennessee health-system facilities; leads team training/shadowing, supports documentation in multiple platforms, and ensures accuracy and completeness of records using EHR systems (EPIC/Cerner) with strong attention to detail. Requires 1+ year HIM experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office; hybrid role with on-site and remote work as needed, and travel to Green Hills Nashville, Lebanon, Tullahoma, and Clarksville in TN.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year Health Information related experience
- Able to travel local/regionally 75% or more of the time
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Knowledge of ROI and HIPAA compliance
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems knowledge (EPIC and Cerner preferred)
- Attention to detail and accuracy in medical records disclosure
- Strong data entry and communication skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and manage multiple tasks
- Mentor/training capability for associates in HIS positions
