Lead Archery Instructor

Job Summary

Oversee archery venues to maximize their use while instructing and coaching guests in classroom or range environments. Maintain 100% accountability for all equipment, ensuring the team keeps gear safe, the work area clean and organized, and that range safety procedures are strictly followed. Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions, control small team movements to complete programs and tasks, and provide mentorship on proper knowledge, skills, and attitude. Perform additional duties assigned by leadership while abiding by staff handbook policies. Requires a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification, 1+ year leading teams, and the physical ability to hike and lift up to 70 pounds for 45-55 work hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 18+
  • USA Archery Level 1 Instructor
  • 1+ year leading teams
  • 1+ year Summit Employment
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member
  • Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily
  • Ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
  • Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record

  • Experience in competitive shooting or hunting, any discipline
  • High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
  • Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
  • Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
