Job Summary
Lead Applications Engineer responsible for reviewing customer specifications and developing System Concepts, Costs, Risk Assessments, and Proposal Documents to define the Scope of Work. You’ll coordinate large multi-business unit quotes, mentor less experienced engineers, support Account Managers, and travel as needed. Responsibilities include generating conceptual solutions in various CAD formats, leading docket reviews, preparing and scheduling internal and external quote package reviews, developing proposals that define scope, production rate, machine buy-offs, and customer part requirements, and ensuring conformance to corporate practices. The role emphasizes customer interaction, problem solving, and directing the proposal process to create winning quotes, with responsibilities spanning from initial concept through delivery scheduling and potential customer requirements. A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is expected, along with significant experience in applications engineering and automation contexts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or related industry experience
- 5-7+ years of industry experience leading successful projects (preferably in the automation industry)
- Proficient in Applications Engineering processes and tools
- Experience in sales and/or customer interaction
