Job Summary
Own application security end-to-end, collaborating with the VP of Engineering to solve challenges in multi-tenant isolation, sub-tenant access control, and cloud security across multi-cloud infrastructure. Secure internet-facing APIs processing 100K+ events/sec while implementing tenant isolation and authorization models. Manage privacy-adjacent security controls for PII handling and data residency compliance. Requires a computer science background with at least six years of experience as a security engineer, ideally having built security practices from the ground up as an early hire at a SaaS or data infrastructure company. Candidates must transition from backend software engineering to security roles and demonstrate deep knowledge of distributed systems.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass technical interviews
- Must have experience with application security
- Must have 6 years of experience as a security engineer
- Must have deep knowledge of distributed systems
- Must have been an early security hire (first 3) at a SaaS product or data infrastructure company
- Must have gone from Backend software engineer to Security engineer
- Must have experience securing systems across multi-cloud and/or multi-region infrastructure
- Must have experience securing multi-tenant platforms: tenant isolation, authorization models, etc
- Must have experience with Privacy-adjacent security (PII handling, data residency, GDPR/CCPA technical controls)
- Must have a CS, Math, or Physics degree
Desired Qualifications
- Ideally be an early hire or have experience building security practices from the ground up
- Experience with data infrastructure or security-centric companies like Okta is beneficial
