Job Summary
Lead Antenna Engineer responsible for the analysis, design, development, optimization and qualification of reflector and aperture antenna systems, including reflector geometry definition and optimization, feed design and integration, radiation pattern analysis, prediction of gain, sidelobe and cross-polarization performance, link budget support, electromagnetic modeling and simulation using TICRA Tools (GRASP), Ansys HFSS and CST Studio Suite, trade studies, prototype development, and correlation of predicted performance with measured antenna range and chamber data across the full design lifecycle. The role acts as subject matter expert in antenna engineering, manages large, complex projects with minimal oversight, guides and coaches other employees, and contributes to new products/processes. Requires strong communication across internal and external stakeholders, problem solving across a wide range of issues, and occasional travel. The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field with 9+ years of experience (or 7+ with graduate degree, or 13+ with no degree), expertise in antenna theory and practice, proficiency with GRASP/HFSS/CST, and the ability to obtain security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field
- minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
- comprehensive knowledge of antenna theory, reflector and aperture antenna design, and applied electromagnetics
- hands-on proficiency with TICRA Tools (GRASP), Ansys HFSS and CST Studio Suite
- experience with feed design, radiation pattern prediction, and antenna measurement/test correlation
- ability to travel up to 10% annually (domestic or international)
- eligibility to obtain and maintain future Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship)
