Job Summary
Lead Animal Care Technician at Dog Gone Happy responsible for leading kennel operations, supervising staff, training team members, and ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment for canine guests. Responsibilities include overseeing playgroups, managing dog behavior, daily care (feeding water, bedding, kennel cleanliness), administering medications per veterinary instructions, reporting incidents and supply needs, and maintaining high service standards for pet parents. Ideal candidates display leadership, reliability, strong communication, problem-solving, flexibility in schedule, and a genuine love for animals; prior animal-care experience preferred. Benefits include discounted daycare and boarding, with medical/dental/vision and 401k for full-time staff. Pay range is $14.00-$15.00 per hour, based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Leadership experience
- Previous petcare/animal experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift at least 50 lbs
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfort with computers and kennel software
