Job Summary
Lead AI Engineer to set technical direction for AYBI's AI/GenAI work, build and ship AI into products and client solutions (LLM apps, RAG over real data, agents, tool-calling), ensure production-grade reliability and cost-efficiency, and coach engineers to adopt AI responsibly within a holacratic, autonomous team. Responsibilities include defining architecture, evaluating build-vs-buy, ensuring observability and guardrails, managing costs and latency, leading productization, and translating AI capability into client value. Requirements emphasize strong Python, production AI/ML experience, LLM/GenAI deployments, reliability and observability practices, and ability to lead technically with clear direction. Remote-friendly within similar time zones; located in NL with Rotterdam base and quarterly meetings in NL or abroad.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: ~3–5 years in software engineering, building and shipping AI/ML or GenAI systems in production
- Strong Python, modern AI stack experience, LLM/GenAI systems deployment
- Reliability & LLMOps: evals, observability, tracing, guardrails
- Communication: strong in English
- Nice to have: data or BI background; cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, CI/CD; model distillation, multimodal pipelines
