Lead AI Enablement Engineer, Aerospace Programs
$228,000–$285,000 year
On-site · San Jose, California, United States
Job Summary
Senior engineering role leading AI tooling adoption across aerospace programs. You will own the strategy, build a playbook, and ship early proofs to embed AI-assisted workflows across aerospace teams (structures, GN&C, propulsion, avionics, flight test, certification). You’ll write prototypes to replace manual processes, demonstrate feasibility, and scale enablement via coaching, onboarding, and documentation. Strong emphasis on building end-to-end tools and templates, maintaining internal toolkits, and ensuring compliance with ITAR and IP requirements while partnering with IT/security. The role requires influencing engineers without direct reports, mentoring internal champions, and delivering measurable cycle-time improvements across critical workflows. Must have a BS+ in a relevant field, 8+ years in engineering roles, and deep familiarity with AI tooling (Claude/Cursor/LLMs), Python, and common aerospace toolchains (MATLAB, CAD/CAE, NX/ANSYS/Abaqus). Excellent communication and strategic thinking needed to drive adoption and impact across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- BS or higher in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or an equivalent physical-systems discipline.
