Job Summary
Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address short- and long-term patient needs within our urgent care clinic. Administer or order diagnostic tests such as x-rays and electrocardiograms, interpret results, and perform therapeutic procedures including injections, sutures, and wound management. Prepare clear medical records in the EMR, maintain a safe environment adhering to infection-control and state regulations, and collaborate with other providers to plan coordinated patient dispositions. Act as a clinical leader and preceptor when the Practice Manager is unavailable, mentoring new-graduate providers and supporting allied healthcare staff. Maintain professional knowledge through workshops and publications while complying with federal, state, and local laws including HIPAA and OSHA.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Certification by Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) certifying body
- DEA license with no restrictions
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
- Willing and able to mentor provider as well as non-provider clinic staff
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and clinical management systems (EMR)
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices
- Knowledge of relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo
- Knowledge of non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their applicable uses, and relevance to patient care
- Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment

- Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting
