Job Summary
Lead Accountant, Royalty & Rights accountable for owning the royalty accounting framework and oversight, with emphasis on technical accounting rigor and scalable, auditable processes. Interpret contractual structures, validate upstream royalty reporting, and design processes while partnering with licensee statement processing and cash application teams. Translate complex business arrangements into clear accounting requirements, ensure end-to-end royalty flows are aligned across teams, establish scalable controls, and support new business initiatives. Lead cross-functional projects, manage process improvements, and drive timely delivery. Requires stakeholder management, strong accounting expertise (US GAAP), and willingness to travel up to 3 times per year; hybrid work environment and relocation support are available for eligible roles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong foundation in US GAAP and internal controls
- Experience in contract-driven accounting areas (revenue recognition, royalties, licensing)
- Ability to interpret legal agreements and translate terms into accounting treatment
- Experience with royalty systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools
