Lead Accountant

Job Summary
Compile, consolidate, and analyze accounting and finance information to produce financial statements and reports. Apply standard practices to classify and record financial transactions, including journal entries, fixed asset accounting, bank reconciliations, and receivables tracking. Prepare business-related analysis, examine accounting records, and lead project teams for special initiatives. Provide subject-matter direction to lower-level analysts, train employees, and monitor work accuracy. Serve as a self-starter capable of solving complex problems and working under pressure while maintaining strong communication and relationship-building skills. This hybrid role requires three days in the office within a 50-mile radius of Pittsburgh, Camp Hill, or Buffalo.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field, or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree
- Minimum 7-10 years in Accounting including leading projects of varying size and complexity
- Experience with PC-based spreadsheet and data processing applications
- Experience with bookkeeping, collections and/or cash posting
- Responsible for multiple and/or complex projects
- Provides direction to other analysts
- Solves complex problems taking a broad perspective and developing innovative solutions
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong relationship building skills
- Client focused with strong business acumen
- Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure independently and as part of a team
- Ability to think strategically and act proactively to create strong trust and confidence with business units
- Strong innovative problem-solving capabilities
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to lift 10 to 25 pounds occasionally
- Must be available for 0% - 25% travel
- Must be available for hybrid role 3 days a week in office
- Must be located within a 50 mile radius of Pittsburgh, Camp Hill or Buffalo
- Must comply with Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
- Must comply with company's Code of Business Conduct
- Must adhere to applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations as well as company policies and training requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Third-Party Administrator Accounting Experience
- Experience with PC-based spreadsheet and data processing applications, heavy concentration with Microsoft Excel (formatting, calculations, pivot tables)
