Job Summary
LDOTD Certified Construction Inspector responsible for field inspections of earthwork, paving, bridge construction, and traffic control devices, plus material testing, documentation, and contract administration. Responsibilities include inspecting materials for LDOTD standards, maintaining field journals and reports, entering data into SiteManager and HeadLight, and verifying contractor work. Specialized inspection areas include Portland Cement Concrete, Asphaltic Concrete Pavement, Embankment/Baseroad, and Structural Concrete. Requires LDOTD certifications, current Work Zone Training (ATSSA), and ability to travel within Louisiana; some projects may require long hours and overnight stays. Proficiency in LDOTD software (SightManager, HeadLight) and strong organizational, technical writing, and interpersonal skills are essential.
