Job Summary
Conduct psychological and social work interventions for oncology patients, families, and significant others to remove psychosocial barriers and coordinate treatment. Provide crisis intervention, distress screening, risk assessments, and connect clients to community resources while maximizing symptom self-management and enhancing quality of life. Deliver support services to assist clients in achieving the best possible functional level and recovery. Requires a Master's degree, three years of mental health experience, one year in oncology, and LCSW or LPC licensure. Includes weekend requirements and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited program in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related mental health discipline with an emphasis on clinical experience
- Three years experience past Master's in the mental health field
- One year of experience working with oncology patients
- Licensed as a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
- Must be CPR certified
- Weekend Requirements: Yes
Desired Qualifications
- Prior clinical experience providing outpatient mental health or inpatient psychiatric services
- Specialized training in cancer care through continued education and on the job experience
