Job Summary
Provide technical leadership and operational oversight for Navy minesweeping systems, specialized deck equipment, and mission support platforms aboard warships and auxiliary vessels. Serve as the principal subject matter expert for minesweeping operations, maintenance procedures, and equipment readiness, guiding troubleshooting, repair, and lifecycle sustainment activities. Support planning, execution, and readiness assessments for mine countermeasure platforms while coordinating with ship's force personnel, waterfront organizations, and government representatives to resolve technical issues. Monitor equipment performance and maintenance trends to identify process improvements, ensuring compliance with Navy operational procedures, engineering requirements, and safety policies. Prepare technical assessments, readiness evaluations, and maintenance reports for leadership review.
Required Qualifications
- Contingent upon contract award
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of supervisory experience in analysis, information systems operations, and implementation of technical projects
- Experience of twenty-five (25) or more years in these areas is considered highly desirable
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of supervisory-level watchstanding experience aboard multiple warships or military auxiliary vessels with diesel engine main propulsion systems
- Service as Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW)
- Service as Propulsion Plant Watch Officer
- Service as Chief Engineer
- Equivalent engineering leadership positions responsible for overall propulsion plant operations and associated control and auxiliary systems
- Extensive experience as a shipboard Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) on multiple ships
- Demonstrated supervisory main propulsion experience with Navy surface ships maintenance processes
- Maintenance/training staff experience (e.g. Immediate Superior In Command (ISIC), Type Commander (TYCOM) or Afloat Training Group (ATG))
- In-depth knowledge of Navy ship depot level maintenance processes
- In-depth knowledge of the theory and workings of surface ship maintenance processes
- Direct operational and maintenance experience within the last five (5) years involving Diesel main propulsion
- Direct operational and maintenance experience within the last five (5) years involving Diesel generators
- Direct operational and maintenance experience within the last five (5) years involving Associated control systems
- Direct operational and maintenance experience within the last five (5) years involving Associated auxiliary systems currently utilized by the U.S. Navy
- Active DoD security clearance (Secret) required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting Navy fleet readiness, modernization, maintenance, or lifecycle sustainment programs
- Experience supporting shipyard maintenance, depot-level engineering activities, or waterfront operations
- Familiarity with Navy maintenance databases, engineering documentation systems, and quality assurance tracking tools
- Experience supporting engineering assessments, inspections, or maintenance program audits
- Undergraduate or associates degree or extensive demonstrated experience in a management role
