Job Summary
LCMS Sales Specialist I will own and grow a defined Life Science territory in the Southeast, acting as technical advisor and trusted sales professional to pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, clinical research, food safety, and environmental customers. Responsibilities include developing territory plans, meeting/exceeding sales targets, maintaining a robust CRM pipeline, conducting product demonstrations and workflow consultations, representing Shimadzu at conferences, delivering training and post-sale support, pursuing cross-sell opportunities, collaborating with field/application teams, and coordinating with procurement to manage the full sales cycle. Requires a Bachelor’s in a related scientific discipline, LC-MS/LC-MS/MS experience, capital equipment sales history, strong technical LC-MS knowledge, Salesforce (or similar) CRM use, excellent communication, travel readiness, and a drive to translate complex science into customer value.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a closely related scientific discipline
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on laboratory experience with LC-MS or LC-MS/MS instrumentation (method development, operation, troubleshooting)
- 1+ year of capital equipment sales experience with demonstrated success achieving or exceeding quota
- Experience selling into pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, clinical research, or CRO environments (preferably Southeast U.S.)
- Deep technical understanding of analytical LC-MS workflows and ability to translate complex science into customer value
- CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred) for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting
- Strong consultative selling, needs assessment, solution design, and multi-stakeholder closing skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to engage both scientific and executive audiences
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
