Job Summary
Assist field teams by staking out sites, transferring reference points from design drawings, and setting forms for sidewalks, slabs, walls, storm sewers, and curbs. Read blueprints to layout jobs and set up GPS units using control points. Work independently and safely with foremen to solve field problems, provide support through physical labor and equipment operation, and lead crews to produce quality results. One-year construction experience required with knowledge of elevations and Trimble GPS systems. Travel to surrounding job sites may be required; per diem provided for overnight stays.
Required Qualifications
- One-year minimum experience in the construction industry
- Experience with elevations
- Knowledge of Trimble GPS systems
- Ability to read blueprints and layout jobs, mostly sidewalks, slabs, and walls with experience to set forms
- Site layout for storm sewer, sanitary sewer, watermain, parking lots and curbs building pads
- Setting up GPS units using control points and blueprints
- Ability to work independently and safely in conjunction with a foreman or project manager to solve problems in the field as needed
- Experience in leading and managing a crew to produce quality results
- Providing support to field teams through physical labor and equipment operation
- Travel may be required for this position as the employee must be willing to travel to surrounding job sites
