Job Summary
Layout Engineer Intern responsible for interpreting architectural/engineering blueprints and translating design plans into precise on-site layout. Learn to use 2D and 3D CAD models for robotic construction layout, perform site preparation, take precise measurements with surveying equipment and laser levels, ensure spatial alignment of structures and components, participate in layout implementation, and conduct quality checks. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to maintain alignment with design plans, record layout data, and develop skills in layout engineering techniques and tools.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Familiarity with construction layout techniques, instruments, and software
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD, Total Station, and other relevant tools
- Ability to interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications for accurate layout implementation
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and alignment
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams
- Willingness to troubleshoot layout challenges and find solutions on-site
- Collaborative attitude, capable of working closely with other team members, contractors, and stakeholders
- Effective time management skills to meet layout deadlines within project schedules
- Ability to work on construction sites, often requiring standing, walking, and working outdoors
