Job Summary
Assists the Head Coach in the effective delivery of sports/activity coaching to K-12 secondary school age children by providing supervision, training, and coaching to student athletes as assigned. Instructs students on sports fundamentals, coordinates try-outs, and manages practice schedules while ensuring equipment issuance. Guides athletes on further participation decisions and monitors the impact of delivery on healthy lifestyles. Requires completing the "PREPARE/First Aid" and "Principles for Coaching" exams within three months, understanding GHSA rules, and meeting age requirements. This role involves variable settings including office, school grounds, and stadiums, with frequent travel for off-site competitions and physical effort outdoors 70% of the time. This position pays a stipend.
Required Qualifications
- PREPARE/ First Aid exam
- Principles for Coaching exam
- Georgia High School Association Coaching exam
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to manage projects and duties with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively manage time and priorities
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to discuss issues of moderate importance
- Responsibility for multiple functions of supervision (athletes, equipment, and staff)
- High-level accountability for effective operation and results
- Ability to travel for off-site competition/training locations
