Job Summary

Assist the Head Coach in delivering sports coaching to K-12 secondary students by instructing fundamentals, supervising practices, and managing equipment issuance. Coordinate try-outs, monitor athlete teams, and guide students on appropriate sport participation levels. Work with coaching staff to set rules, policies, and regulations while ensuring safety precautions and injury prevention. Complete the "PREPARE/First Aid" and "Principles for Coaching" exams within three months, understanding GHSA rules and regulations. Manage projects with minimal supervision in a variable environment involving 70% outdoor physical effort and frequent travel for competitions. This stipend-supported role supports healthy lifestyles and aligns with the GHSA Constitution and By-Laws.

Required Qualifications

  • PREPARE/ First Aid exam
  • Principles for Coaching exam
  • Georgia High School Association Coaching exam
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to manage projects and duties with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively manage time and priorities
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Responsible for multiple functions of supervision (athletes, equipments and staff as needed) with a high-level accountability for effective operation and results

Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding and knowledge of rules and regulations presented by the GHSA
