Job Summary
Mid-level lawyer role in the Consumer legal team with a hands-on remit across mortgages, everyday banking, credit cards and personal loans. You will provide day-to-day legal advice on consumer banking matters, support customers-related issues including powers of attorney and third-party authorities, deceased estates, account access disputes, and settlements; contribute to developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and guidance materials; and identify legal risks to support appropriate controls. The role requires admitted NSW solicitor status with at least 4 years PQE, strong familiarity with consumer banking products and regulatory frameworks, and the ability to deliver practical legal guidance in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Required Qualifications
- Admitted to practice as a solicitor in NSW
- Minimum 4 years PQE in private practice or supporting a financial services business
- Strong familiarity with consumer banking products and regulatory frameworks
- Commercially minded with the ability to deliver clear, actionable legal advice
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach
