Job Summary
Advise on structuring domestic and cross-border investments, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, partnership arrangements, real estate structures, energy and infrastructure deals, and private wealth structuring. Perform significant drafting responsibility for transactional documents, partnership agreements, and detailed tax memoranda addressing complex Canadian tax law. Collaborate with corporate, real estate, banking, and private wealth teams across Canada and internationally. Requires approximately five years of experience, admission to a Canadian provincial or territorial law society, and strong drafting and analytical skills. Located in Toronto.
Required Qualifications
- Admitted and in good standing with a Canadian provincial or territorial law society
- Approximately 5 years of experience
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent drafting skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and internationally integrated environment
- Intellectual curiosity
- Comfortable advising in developing areas of tax law where guidance may be limited
Desired Qualifications
- LL.M. in Taxation
- Completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course
