Job Summary
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including supplier agreements, leases, and joint ventures. Lead corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures while advising on restructuring and financing. Manage litigation and disputes, oversee environmental compliance for scrap metal recycling operations, and ensure adherence to local, national, and international laws. Collaborate with external counsel and global operations to address legal issues across jurisdictions. This bilingual Corporate Lawyer role reports to the Vice-President Legal Affairs. Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Law and Quebec Bar membership with 1-3 years of experience. Competitive salary, group insurance, RRSP, and on-site amenities are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Law
- member of the Quebec Bar
- 1-3 years of experience in corporate law
- Strong knowledge of Quebec and Canadian corporate law
- familiarity with international legal frameworks and regulations
- Fully bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and legal matters efficiently and with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- A proactive, solution-oriented, and practical approach to legal problem-solving
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
