Lawn Maintenance Foreman

Job Summary
Coordinate daily activities of Lawn Maintenance Technicians, assign work based on district priorities and weather, and inspect grounds for maintenance needs and safety hazards. Operate landscaping equipment including zero-turn mowers and string trimmers while overseeing seasonal tasks like mowing, seeding, and fertilizing. Supervise the safe application of herbicides and pesticides, train staff on practices and safety procedures, and monitor work quality to ensure timely completion. Conduct routine equipment inspections, maintain records of assignments and chemical use, and respond to after-hours emergencies such as storm cleanup. Perform lawn maintenance duties alongside assigned employees as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid South Carolina driver's license
- Demonstrated experience in groundskeeping, landscape maintenance, or related facilities maintenance
- Knowledge of landscaping practices
- Knowledge of safe equipment operation
- Knowledge of routine equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of applicable safety procedures
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to supervise assigned employees
- Ability to follow work orders and safety protocols
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and supervisors
- Moderately heavy physical exertion capability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds
- Ability to travel in district
