Job Summary
Apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides to client properties using spray and injection tools while diagnosing plant diseases and determining appropriate treatments. Measure, mix, and prepare chemical solutions, then inspect worksites for underground utilities before safely operating vehicles and equipment. Maintain proper documentation including pesticide labels and Safety Data Sheets, keep daily application records, and communicate diagnoses to clients. Perform site clean-up and adhere to all safety regulations. This seasonal position requires a valid driver's license and completion of Davey Tree Qualified Plant Health Care Technician training.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age to work in the field
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate equipment as a Department of Transportation (DOT) certified driver for specific vehicles or equipment
- Valid Driver's License
- Class B CDL
- Successful completion in the Davey Tree Qualified Plant Health Care Technician training program as a plant heath care technician or the ability to obtain qualification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to complete required safety courses
- Applicator licenses acquired as necessary per state requirements
- Ability to operate mobile power equipment
- Up to 25% travel
