Job Summary
Lawn and Garden Specialist responsible for assisting in the Lawn and Garden Department, including product presentation, merchandising, inventory, and daily operations. Duties include customer service, plant care (watering/live botanicals), stocking and displaying merchandise, processing overstock, operating the Epicor Eagle retail system, and ensuring safe handling of equipment (including forklift certification when required). Must be physically able to lift up to 65 lbs repetitively (and more with assistance), work outdoors in all seasons, maintain professional appearance, and perform cashiering if needed. Must be 18+ and able to learn concepts, coordinate with management on marketing and customer service initiatives, and support a safe, productive store environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be physically able to safely lift up to 65 lbs repetitively
- Must be able to lift greater than 65 lbs with assistance
- Must be able to withstand outside temperatures during all seasons and like to work outdoors
- Must be able to daily maintain a professional appearance with uniform, name tag and personal hygiene
- Proficient in cashiering, if required
- Ability to work with limited supervision and stay focused on tasks
- Must be willing and able to learn new concepts and ideas
- Contribute to a safe and stimulating work environment
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Proficient in operation of forklift and other materials handling equipment
- Ability to learn and utilize Epicor Eagle retail computer system
- Knowledge of inventory and pricing structure
- Ability to assemble and display merchandise
- Daily watering of live plants and botanicals
- Answer customer service calls and assist customers with service and sales in all departments
- Coordinate department marketing, public relations, education and customer service with management
