Job Summary
Law Library Officer role in a detention setting. Responsibilities include planning and organizing library programs for detainees, supervising detainees accessing law library services, enforcing library policies, providing readers’ advisory services, selecting and organizing library materials, reviewing requests to match inmate needs, assembling reviews forBulletins/newspapers, providing reading aids to disabled or bedridden inmates, and promoting positive social skills through modeling appropriate behavior. Requires excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service abilities, strong organizational and time-management skills, ability to work in a high-paced environment, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a high school diploma with detention/corrections officer certification and 2+ years related experience; physical requirements outlined. On-site in Monroe, LA with full-time schedule.
Required Qualifications

- Certification as a detention/corrections officer
- Six months related experience
- At least two years related experience
