Job Summary
Deliver high-quality, timely legal advice and services for claims against Avant's members and commercial clients. Assist with legal research and case preparation, draft briefs, memos, court documents, and contracts, and conduct analysis on various issues. Review and summarize case files, attend client meetings and court hearings, and provide administrative support for managing files. Rotate every three months through civil litigation, professional conduct claims, workplace law, commercial advisory, estate planning, and employment areas. Complete an 18-week Practical Legal Training program in partnership with The College of Law.
Required Qualifications
- Completed or in final semester of study at an Australian university
- Will have completed degree by end of 2026
- Ability to express ideas effectively with proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of prioritisation, time management and self-management skills
- Willingness to learn and take on board feedback
- Works collaboratively and constructively to support a positive team culture
- Excellent computer literacy and competency to work in an electronic document management environment
- Unlimited working rights in Australia
