Job Summary
Deliver high-quality, timely legal advice and services for claims against Avant's members and commercial clients. Assist with legal research, case preparation, and drafting documents including briefs, memos, court filings, and contracts. Conduct analysis, review case files, and attend client meetings, court hearings, and proceedings as required. Manage case files and coordinate with clients while staying updated on legal developments. Rotate through four practice areas over 12 months, including civil litigation, professional conduct, workplace law, and commercial advisory. Complete an 18-week Practical Legal Training program with The College of Law.
Required Qualifications
- Completed or in final semester of study at an Australian university
- Will have completed degree by end of 2026
- Ability to express ideas effectively with proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of prioritisation, time management and self-management skills
- Willingness to learn and take on board feedback
- Works collaboratively and constructively to support a positive team culture
- Excellent computer literacy and competency to work in an electronic document management environment
- Unlimited working rights in Australia
