Job Summary

Conduct armed patrols of airport terminals, access points, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and monitor restricted areas. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while executing site-specific security procedures and emergency response protocols. Verify credentials, report suspicious activity or hazards, and prepare accurate reports for airport operations and supervision. Maintain visible presence to support travelers, staff, and visitors in Kahului, HI, adhering to strict safety and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
  • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Law Enforcement Officer License
  • 22+ years of age
  • Certified State law enforcement recruit training
  • Certified County law enforcement recruit training
  • Federal law enforcement training
  • Programs approved by the Director
  • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9))
  • No documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings
  • No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties
  • Ability to supervise Contractor's personnel
  • Ability to work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions, under stressful conditions
  • Maturity in conduct behavior and attitude
  • Ability to take orders, follow instructions, accept and assume responsibility for one's actions
  • Alertness, attentiveness, and professional conduct
  • Ability to recognize, respond and take appropriate and corrective actions to various situations
  • Strong moral character
  • High standards and be truthful
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing in English
  • Courtesy in inter-person relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement and security personnel
  • Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned Post/duties
  • In good physical health and be fully capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking patrolling for an entire shift(s), climbing stairs, running and self-defense
  • Ability to perform essential physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (e.g., fire extinguisher) for a designated distance
  • Ability to assist in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or providing support to persons with limited mobility
  • Subject to a random drug screen
  • Must be able to exercise physical force, if required, in the execution of their official duties
  • Be able to successfully pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office
  • Well-groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State
  • Pass and complete a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months
  • Correctable, vision to 20/30 each eye with normal color vision
  • Able to hear at a normal conversational level
  • Possess 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent
  • Possess a Peace Officer Certificate
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
