Job Summary

Monitor and patrol assigned areas at a government airport location, including terminals, public spaces, parking, and roadways, to deter unauthorized activity and suspicious behavior. Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while providing customer service to visitors, travelers, staff, and vendors. Verify credentials for restricted areas, report unusual conditions, and carry assigned armed post equipment in accordance with laws and post orders. Document observations and incidents in required reports and exercise sound judgment under stressful conditions. Work a part-time day shift from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with an hourly rate of $28.86 plus a $3.58 bonus.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
  • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Law Enforcement Officer License
  • 22+ years of age
  • Applicant must complete one of the following approved programs: Certified State law enforcement recruit training, Certified County law enforcement recruit training, Federal law enforcement training, Programs approved by the Director
  • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings
  • Shall have no record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties
  • Must be able to supervise Contractor's personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees
  • Ability to exercise physical force, if required, in the execution of their official duties
  • Be able to successfully pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office
  • Well-groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State
  • Pass and complete a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months
  • Correctable, vision to 20/30 each eye with normal color vision
  • Able to hear at a normal conversational level
  • Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Pass a 12-panel drug test and pass all future random drug testing
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
  • Possess an armed guard card or license

  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs
