Job Summary
Assist lawyers with administrative aspects of estate planning and estate administration, including legal research, drafting wills and probate documents, and reviewing file materials for key information and risks. Support matter progression by preparing correspondence, managing inboxes, coordinating workflows, and handling end-of-month billing while responding to deed enquiries and client document requests. Attend client meetings to support general file management and contribute to team initiatives and process improvements. This role is part of the Wills & Estates team at Macpherson Kelley, a national commercial law firm, and requires at least two years of relevant experience in a similar practice.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role within a Wills & Estates practice
- A Diploma of Legal Services or similar qualification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
- A proactive and reliable approach, with strong organisational skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively within a team
- Experience supporting billing, practice administration and file management processes
- A client-focused mindset, with the ability to approach sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy
Desired Qualifications
- A genuine interest in Wills & Estates law and a desire to build a long-term career as a Law Clerk in this area
- Experience with Settify or similar legal technology platforms
