Job Summary
Research emerging legal and social policy topics to draft guidance articles and webinar materials for NASW members. Draft analyses of federal and state legislative issues affecting social work practice and prepare comments on proposed regulations. Attend team and board meetings to offer legal perspectives and recommendations. Submit a writing sample as part of the application process. This role supports the Legal Defense Fund's mission to advance the legal interests of social workers during the Fall 2026 semester.
Required Qualifications
- Current student in an accredited law school (3L)
- Strong interest in nonprofit law, social justice, and advocacy
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze complex legal issues
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience or strong interest in social work is a plus
